The Fiji International presented by Fiji Airways has presented a cheque to the value of FJ$20,000 to High Commissioner Mr Yogesh Punja and Consul General & Trade Commissioner Mr Zarak Khan to assist relief efforts after Tropical Cyclone Keni and Tropical Cyclone Josie took their toll on Fiji.
Today, the PGA of Australia, and Sports and Entertainment Limited, the joint owners of the tournament announced the donation will go towards the Cyclone Assistance Relief Effort for Fiji (the CARE for Fiji effort) which was launched by the Prime Minister of Fiji the Honourable Voreqe Bainimarama.
Fiji has been the home of the Fiji International presented by Fiji Airways for the last five years. Played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course the tournament is tri-sanctioned by the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia, Asian Tour and the European Tour.
The success of the Fiji International presented by Fiji Airways on the world stage is in no small part due to the ongoing dedication shown by the Fijian community who are involved with event on so many levels. From business suppliers and corporate partners, to the many local volunteers including Fiji National University students; the local support is a crucial part of the event.
