The Fiji International extends its congratulations to Fiji Airways and their exciting sponsorship of Fiji Rugby Union.

Fiji Airways and Fiji Rugby Union have been strong supporters of the Fiji International throughout the tournament’s history and the PGA of Australia was delighted to hear the two proud Fijian organisations have come to a sponsorship agreement.

“Both Fiji Airways and Fiji Rugby Union are iconic brands in the country and the Fiji International is proud to have a great relationship with both,” Gavin Kirkman, CEO of the PGA of Australia said.

“The Fiji International has always endeavored to display local Fijian brands in the best possible light to an international audience since 2014, a goal I’m sure we share with Fiji Airways and Fiji Rugby Union.

“We wish them all the success in their new partnership and look forward to working with them in the future.”

The new sponsorship agreement will see Fiji Airways as the major naming and branding rights for the following:

• Fiji Airways Flying Fijians (15s Men’s team)
• Fiji Airways National 7s Team (Men’s 7’s);
• Fiji Airways Fijiana 15s Team (Women’s 15s team);
• Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s Team (Women’s 7s team);
• Fiji Airways Drua (team currently playing in the Australian National Rugby Championship);
• Fiji Link Referees (all referees in Fiji will be sponsored by and will wear Fiji Link branded apparel).

The announcement was made by the President of the Fiji Rugby Union and Honourable Prime Minister Ratu Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama.

The sponsorship agreement reached between the two parties is likely to be one of the biggest sports sponsorships not only in Fiji but in the South Pacific.

In announcing the landmark sponsorship, FRU President Mr Voreqe Bainimarama said it’s a historic occasion for Fiji Rugby Union, Fiji Airways and for Fiji as a country.

“Tonight two of our countries most revered and trusted brands, – the Fiji Rugby Union and Fiji Airways have teamed up to take on the World,” said Bainimarama.

“For many decades, our teams have been safely carried to the corners of the world by Fiji Airways, and their code share partners.”

Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen said they are looking forward to working with Fiji Rugby Union.

“As the National Airline of this great country, it is our honour to now fly Fiji Rugby to the world,” Viljoen said.
