The ‘snap a selfie and win’ competition is back by popular demand and this year’s winners will have the opportunity to experience Fiji’s biggest international sporting tournament, the Fiji International, thanks to the Fijian Made Inner Sanctum Competition.

The competition, which will run in conjunction with the Fiji International “Give Golf a Go” Road Show, commences in early July and two lucky people will be walking away with a VIP pass at the tournament. The promotion is open to Fijian residents only.

Individuals who are interested in entering the competition, are invited to take a photo selfie with a Fijian Made product or at any of the Fiji International “Give Golf a Go” Road Show sites and then simply upload the photos onto the Fijian Made Facebook page with hash tags #Fijianmade, #FijiIntl and #FijiNow to complete and confirm their entry. The two entries with the most number of ‘likes’ will win the competition.

The winners will win one night’s accommodation at the Shangri-la Fijian Resort & Spa, a tour behind the scenes at the Fiji International and VIP access to the corporate entertainment areas. In addition, the winners will get Fijian Made hampers and an opportunity to meet sporting heroes.

“This competition has been organised by the Ministry for the past two years, as part of the Fijian Government’s initiatives to grow local awareness of the Fiji International tournament and the Fijian Made-Buy Fijian programme,” said the Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, Faiyaz Koya.

Minister Koya further added that the tournament has also made an impact in developing golf as a sport in Fiji. Each year, Fijian golfers are given the opportunity to compete for a place in this tournament and compete against top-ranking professional golfers from Asia, Australasia, Europe and the rest of the World.

“We hope that through this tournament we will see the rise of another Vijay Singh, who by the way, will continue as a highlight of the Fiji International for the fourth consecutive year. The Fiji International aims to grow the love of golf in Fiji and get Fijians involved in the sport. The “Give Golf a Go” Road Show is one initiative in place to help achieve this goal,” stated Koya.

PGA chief executive officer Australia Gavin Kirkman reiterated that PGA is committed to growing golf in Fiji, by providing Fijian’s with the opportunity to give golf a go.
“It is indeed an honour to partner with Fijian Made in this competition and to bring golf to the community. We look forward to seeing some of the creative entries and meeting the winners at this year’s Fiji International”, said Kirkman.
