The Fiji International is shaping up to be a fantastic professional golf tournament which will be played from 6 – 9 October at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course. Here are five things that you may not have known about Fiji’s most premier sporting event.

GOLF TOURISM

The Fiji International is broadcasted live for 20 hours to close to 400 million households across the globe. This projects Fiji into the homes of golfers profiling it as a great golf destination. Golf tourism is one of the fastest growing areas of tourism in the world and was an untapped market for Fiji prior to the launch of the Fiji International. When people think of Fiji, they picture paradise with surfing, fishing, pristine beaches, wonderful scenery and hospitality. Now thanks to the Fiji International introducing Fiji onto the international golf stage, people are starting to also consider Fiji as an ideal golfing destination. Fiji is already enjoying the benefits of the Fiji International with golfers from around the world coming to experience golf in Fiji after watching it live and delayed from previous years.

ATTEND AND WIN

This year, spectators who attend the Fiji international will go into a daily lucky draw to win cash prizes of $100. There will be five winners drawn everyday with all spectators also going into a grand lucky draw at the end of the four days of the tournament; one lucky spectator will win $1,000! Mark your calendars and come watch the Fiji International 2016. Special ticket prices have been arranged for Fiji Citizens and residents of $5 on Thursday and Friday, $10 on Saturday and Sunday and $20 for entrance to or attend all four days of the Fiji International from 6-9 October for $20.

GET UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH CELEBRITIES

Not only does the Fiji International offer a chance for you to get up close and personal with some of the world’s best professional golfers but it also offers opportunities to meet them in person through the various hospitality packages on offer. The Paradise Club VIP area offers free flow drinks and food between 11am – 5pm on a daily basis with the soon to be announced, exciting Brand Ambassadors of the Fiji International appearing once a day to mingle with you. With the European Tour co-sanctioning the Fiji International together with the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia, the strength of field will be increased on previous years. Children under the age of 16 receive free entry to the Fiji International and can enjoy the Junior Zone where they will be able to hit golf balls and learn more about the game of golf. While the kids learn and enjoy golf in the Junior Zone, you can spend the day watching some amazing golf in the beautiful surroundings of the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.
