World Number 23 Brandt Snedeker made his move in the second round of the Fiji International and is poised to strike on the weekend.

Firing 7-under 65, Snedeker is tied second with overnight leader Anthony Houston on 10-under the card.

“I told myself going out this morning 5-under or better would put me right where I want to be,” said Snedeker.

“To go out and shoot seven, I know I don’t have the lead I think I’m one back, but I’m comfortable where I am going into the weekend, there’s a lot of golf left.”

Snedeker was happy with his bogey free round which was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 6th.

“It was another really good day today; I drove the ball fantastic and gave myself a lot of opportunities,” said Snedeker.

“I didn’t make a whole lot on the font-9; back-9 I made a few putts and made an eagle on the second par-5 on the front-9 which was nice.”

“I didn’t make a bogey, every time you do that you’re doing something right. Hopefully I can build on this for tomorrow.”

With his day’s work done, Snedeker is looking forward to relaxing with his family at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.

“I’m going straight to the pool to work on my golfer’s tan. I’ll probably end up sunburnt like my kids yesterday,” added Snedeker.

However tomorrow it will be back to business as he tries to win the Fiji International title with a bunch of talented young Aussies surrounding him on the leaderboard.

“It’s going to be two more tough days; a lot of wind and this golf course can jump up and bite you really quick so hopefully I can steer away from big numbers this weekend and keep playing the way I am,” added Snedeker.

“There are lots of quality players here. I’ve played against a bunch of these guys before, my whole life, it’s actually been kind of fun this week to see a bunch I haven’t seen in a while.”

“There are always new kids coming up and the next world beaters coming down the stretch so you have to bring you’re A game everywhere you go if you want to play anywhere in the world.”
