Viña Leyda was founded in 1998, in Leyda Valley, which is today recognized as the last great Chilean wine region to be developed. Traditionally the cool climate Leyda Valley had been an area of natural pasture lands and basic crops such as wheat and barley. After evaluating the viticultural potential of the area, a crucial investment was made which enabled water to be brought from the Maipo River through an eight kilometer pipeline. Vina Leyda has now planted vineyards for a total of 230 hectares, and the Leyda Valley is acclaimed as Chile’s greatest white wine region.

Viña San Pedro was recently chosen as the New World Winery of the Year in recognition to its performance in its many different markets throughout the world, where it has stood out for its dynamism, innovation and winemaking excellence. The 1865 Cabernet Sauvignon commemorates the origin of San Pedro a century and a half ago! At 700 meters above sea level this is a cooler climate wine with intense plum and blackcurrent fruit, a full-bodied and complex palate with firm tannins and balancing acidity.

Trapiche (pronounced Tra-pee-chay) is Argentina’s largest exported premium wine brand, with over 1000 hectares of vineyards in the great wine region of Mendoza, nestled in the foothills of the Andes mountain chain. With a history of more than 130 years and exports to over 80 countries worldwide, Trapiche has become one of the world’s leading wine brands.

The Taittinger Champagne house originated in 1734 as Fourneaux Champagne but was purchased by the Taittinger family in 1932 and is now a prestigious Grande Marque with some of the largest vineyard areas in Champagne. The non-vintage is strongly Chardonnay influenced giving great elegance and finesse to balance the power and body of the Pinot Noir. A minimum of three years cellarage gives the non-vintage an extra degree of complexity and ensures that this is one of the truly great Champagnes!

About the Fiji International: The Fiji International became even more global in 2016, thanks to a new co-sanctioning agreement between the PGA Tour of Australasia and The European Tour.
